Helping organisations move from ambition to controlled, measurable execution is the thread that runs through my work.

I am Alison Hulley CMgr FCMI, a strategic and operational consultant specialising in the point where leadership ambition meets organisational reality. My work spans growth, governance, commercial development, operational maturity, tenders, continuity and complex delivery.

Throughout my career, I have supported more than 500 organisations and contributed to over £30 million in grant funding. I have worked with founders, executives and leadership teams to navigate growth, funding, market expansion, regulated delivery and organisational change.

Across these assignments, I have observed a recurring challenge. Organisations can usually describe the financial, commercial or strategic result they want, but the operating conditions required to achieve it are often less clear. Responsibilities may be assumed, processes may differ from documented practice, evidence may be fragmented, and strategies may be approved without a reliable mechanism for implementation.

My strength lies in bringing clarity to that complexity. I look beneath the presenting problem to understand why current performance exists, where value is being lost and what must change across decisions, responsibilities, processes, capability, controls and evidence.

This approach is expressed through Operational Value Intelligence, my consultancy methodology for tracing intended outcomes back to the operational conditions producing them. Through the Operational Value Transformation mechanism, I help organisations define the value required, examine operational reality, identify value leakage, design proportionate interventions, embed change and evidence the resulting benefit.

My work does not end with a strategy, report or recommendation. I help translate intent into practical action: clear ownership, workable processes, controlled implementation, reliable evidence and measurable outcomes.

An effective strategy should shape how decisions are made, how responsibilities are understood, how capability is built and how progress is evidenced. My approach is, therefore, practical, analytical and grounded in the organisation’s actual circumstances, not in generic assumptions or predetermined solutions.
